SUSTAINABLE HEALTH
THROUGH PREVENTION
IS IMPACT
OUR WORLDVIEW
The cornerstone of our worldview is that all living things, including the Earth, are interconnected and interdependent. The Earth isn’t just real estate, she is a part of us and our extended family. Native definitions of health or “being well” necessarily take account of land and water resources, community, longevity in balance with nature, self-healing or regenerative techniques, and thriving animal populations every bit as much as sleep, food sovereignty, and activity or exercise. Our traditional principles are not anti-western medicine, technology or science. Rather they embrace cultural advancements but retain an understanding of historical perspective and the need to attain balance with all things. The land is a reflection of the health of the people that inhabit it. Human health is inextricably intertwined with the natural world in a spiritual way. The interdependencies are so interrelated that Native people removed from the land that nurtured them will suffer severe depression, often malnourishment, and in some cases struggle to survive.
The dichotomy between the Native philosophy of interdependence and the Western philosophies of market-driven prosperity through consumption gives rise to structural barriers as well. Termed by many as the “social determinants of health,” these barriers have served as impediments to Native health by leading to systemic inequities. An understanding of this philosophical tension informs our philosophy of impact, our emphasis on human sustainability and chronic disease prevention, and our commitment to lowering the catastrophic rates of chronic illness through a holistic approach including digital health, personal health, community health and financial health.

OUR MISSION
We stand at the precipice of a tectonic shift in health fueled by individual empowerment and the democratization of access to affordable, scalable solutions. Our investment paradigm positions us to propel companies that will drive this new era, shaping the future of human health to increase access, lower costs, and prevent the onset of disease at a sustainable systemic level. The next evolution of human wellbeing is prevention powering sustainable health, and it is within our reach.
The realization of sustainable human health through a holistic approach to the prevention of chronic disease is our mission. It couples our pursuit of ROI in health-enabling companies with our commitment to personally give of ourselves through engagement with companies and founders for the benefit of humankind. By working in community with founders to benefit those in need, we encourage innovative thinking and solution optionality, leading to better positioning of our invested companies for successful growth in the larger market and better outcomes for those suffering the most from chronic disease. Our mission informs our investment thesis as a fusion of our professional work and our belief system.

OUR KINDRED SPIRIT
The connection between Native Americans and buffalo goes deeper than looking at the bison only as food. Native Americans consider the buffalo as a brother. Buffalo are a part of Native Americans and Native Americans are a part of the buffalo – culturally, materially, and spiritually. “The buffalo provide a deep spiritual connection to the earth and the sky, and they carry heavy burdens of the people” (Native Hope). Buffalo represent unity and strength and are admired and respected in Indigenous cultures. Buffalo have humble spirits and strength that is a reminder to Native Americans to stand up for what they believe in and to continue being resilient.
